Former MLB player and Prattville City Council Member Form Foundation to Uplift Their Hometown

“The generation of kids that are growing up here now, they have no idea of the history that they are literally living on. We want to educate them, and help them take pride in their community. A center like this could give them something to latch on to in a positive way,” Marlon Anderson said. “Nobody wants to be in a bad situation. Hopefully we can get to the point where we create job opportunities though vocational programs and other outlets”.

May 10-11 the Marlon and Marcus Foundation held its third annual Celebrity Golf Classic and All-Star Party at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Capitol Hill and Clubhouse in Prattville. Marlon Anderson and Marcus Jackson are the founders of the Foundation. Over 250 guests and many celebrities attended this amazing All-Star party event. Both events were sold out. Tonya Terry, former WSFA anchor was the MC for the second year at the event. Hannah Laschinger and Thea Langley organized the event.
It was a great opening dinner with fabulous food, drinks, live DJ with Steve Haynes, Dessert Bar, Bourbon Bar, Cigars, and much more were all included.

The mission, of The Marlon and Marcus Foundation, is to improve the lives of children and their families in our community. On Friday, October 7, 2022 we presented Mr. Brock Dunn, principal of the Autauga County Technology Center, with a check for $2500 to help cover fees for their students. The ACTC is vital to our community in that it prepares our students for entry into the workforce after graduation.
